Social Ventures Australia (SVA) was established in 2002 by The Benevolent Society, The Smith Family, WorkVentures and AMP Foundation. As an independent, non-profit organisation, Social Ventures Australia has provided funding and strategic support to non-profit partners working in education and employment.

In 2012, Social Ventures Australia became a founding partner in the Building Futures for Young Australians research project.
