In 2014, Hands on Learning Australia measured Self-management skills - being able to self regulate, manage emotions, has coping skills through the following questions on their term data spreadsheet:

  • Is able to follow instructions.
  • Is able to work effectively in a team.
  • Is able totake on a leadership role in a group.
  • Is able to manage difficult relationships.
  • Is able to work through and solve problems.
  • Is able to set goals and work towards them.
  • Is able to prioritise activities and manage time in order to meet deadlines.
  • Is able to work effectively on a task on his/her own.
  • Is able to stick at tasks - even ones that he/she does not enjoy - to get them done on time.
  • Is able to work out how to do a task and set things up so that he/she can complete it.
  • Is able to take initiative and manage him/herself to get a task done.
